Welcome to my photographic tuition blog, where I intend to highlight details of the latest photographic courses I will be running. The blog will also highlight both my own
and students' photos taken throughout the year.
I have always been passionate about wildlife and conservation and when not photographing people I can often be found out in the countryside and on nature reserves. Though we have of course lost species, we are lucky to still have such a diversity of birds, butterflies and insects in the British countryside. Many species are still under threat, but it is heartening to have met so many like minded people when out and about photographing the natural world.

This Holly Blue is pictured taking salts from my driveway. There don't seem to be many butterflies around though at the moment in my garden and my updates to the Big Butterfly Count from the garden have unfortunately been a bit meagre.
Yesterday afternoon was a one to one photographic tuition session with Shaun who had a new camera and wanted a brush up on correct exposure. We headed to East Park for some photographic subjects and ended up in the zoo. The birds in particular are very good to photograph as they are so colourful. We looked at composition and the need to underexpose or overexpose depending on the subject.
If anyone is interested in private tuition as opposed to joining a group, give me a call on 07866 316577 or e-mail me at info@mauricephotos.co.uk
